Jumper Class Definitions

Table II, Sec. 1 Time First Round – The first round is decided by adding together the faults incurred over the course and any penalties for exceeding the Time Allowed. Horses with clean rounds or equal faults are classified according to their time taken to complete the course.

Table II, Sec.2.b. Time First Jump-Off – The first round and first jump-off, if any, are decided by adding together the faults incurred over the course and any penalties for exceeding the Time Allowed, if any. If a competitor has gone clean in the first round, he/she will, without leaving the ring, upon an audible signal, commence the designated jump-off course. In the event of equality of faults after the first round, there will be one jump-off for first place only in which time will decide in the event of equality of points.

$16.00 per Class, $20.00 Office Fee per Entry, $15 Office Fee for Pre-Entry by deadline

RULES & REGULATIONS

  1. As per Maryland state requirements, ALL horses and ponies must present a negative Coggins, dated 12 months prior to show date, must be presented to the Show Office before any back number is issued.
  2. Any individual mounted on a horse or pony at any time on the show grounds must wear protective headgear that meets current ASTM-SEI standards, with the harness secured.
  3. Show management reserves the right to make changes to the show schedule as needed, including but not limited to: class locations, additions, cancellations, and combinations.
  4. STALLIONS ARE BARRED from competition and show grounds.
  5. A completed and signed release form (must be 18 or older to sign) and payment must be left with the show once before entry back number will be issued. Checks can be made out to Baltimore County Horse Council
  6. All entries will be judged on soundness at the trot upon entering the ring. The decision of the ring’s respective judge is final.
  7. Baltimore County Horse Council and the show management and staff assume no responsibility for any damage, accident, or injury which may occur to any horse, exhibitor, spectator, equipment, or vehicle at any time while on the show grounds.
  8. Walking The Course opportunity, 3:00-3:45 pm Friday, Aug 9.
  9. A junior rider is anyone under 18 years of age as of December 1st of the previous year.
  10. Six (6) ribbons will be awarded in each class.

 

Horse Health Requirements

  1. To meet Maryland Dept. of Agriculture’s Coggin’s test requirements, an exhibitor must provide, at each show, a negative Coggin’s test dated within one year of the competition dates for each horse. Please bring a copy of your current negative Coggins for the Horse Show Office to keep on file.
  2. All horses entering the show grounds must be accompanied by documentation of Equine Influenza Virus and Equine Herpes Virus (Rhinopneumonitis) vaccinations within six months prior to entering the show grounds. Please bring a copy of your current vaccination records for the Horse Show Office to keep on file.
